They say for every person there is someone meant to be
Someone to complete them and fulfill their destiny
I’ve spent my whole life searchin’ just to find out where you are
Standing in the moonlight and just wishin’ on a star

Wishin’ on a star
Forever will I be
Wishin’ on a star
To bring you here to me
Will it take forever to discover where you are?
Destined to forever be just wishin’ on a star?

I know you’re out there somewhere and you’re searching just for me
Hoping you can also find with whom your meant to be
Scouring the Heavens from exactly where you are
Praying to find love and also wishin’ on a star

Wishin’ on a star
Forever will I be
Wishin’ on a star
To bring you here to me
Will it take forever to discover where you are?
Destined to forever be just wishin’ on a star?

If there’s a God in Heaven they will bring you here to me
Where we can be together and fulfill our destiny
But till that day I’ll stand here and keep wishin’ on a star
Till I can be with you and be exactly where you are
