WHEN I THINK OF YOU

When I Think of You was inspired by the death of my close friend, Dave Goldberg. He was a prince of a man. The song is a look back by his wife Arlene on their lives together through pictures on the wall. I was so moved by Dave’s death that I wrote the lyrics the same day he died. The song was developed to a Robin Spielberg track and recorded by Tampa Murphy and Broadway star Patricia Welch.

When I Think Of You

Lyrics by Hal Pollock

When I think of springtime
Then I think of you
All the love I hoped for
All the love we knew
All our special places
I can still recall
Looking at our faces
In pictures on the wall

Seasons now are changing
Summer turns to Fall
Ever rearranging
Pictures on the wall
All the leaves the turning
Ever changing hue
All the brilliant colors
Reminding me of you

There were times I thought
I would always be with you
And there were times that I was sure
That nothing could undo
The love we shared together and the
happiness we knew
But the world must turn
And claim a love that’s true

Now it is the winter
Snowflakes start to fall
Staring at the pictures
Hanging in the hall
As its getting colder
Miss you most of all
All the warm embraces
In pictures on the wall

You are here, inside of me
Where I know, you’ll always be
And you will stay, forever in my heart

Love is everlasting
Love is ever true
Love will be remembered
Love is ever true
When I think of you
Love is what we live for
This I know is true
Love will last forever
When I think of you
