It was summer in the city
I was just out for a stroll
When suddenly I saw you
Standing under a lamp pole
I struck up a conversation
And before the light said “Go”
I knew your name and had your number
We were headed to a show

You were single just like me
You liked Chinese and Rock ‘N’ Roll
You were ready for romance
What more did I need to know?
And before I even knew it
I was underneath your spell
Don’t ask me how its going
‘Cause I never kiss and tell

Now I’m walkin’ down the avenue
As happy as can be
Walkin’ down the avenue
I’m quite a sight to see
Got a smile on my face
And my cutie on my arm
And I’m thinkin’ this is love
I have found my lucky charm

I was just out for a stroll
I was feelin kinda blue
But it all changed in an instant
When I got a look at you
Like an angel dropped from Heaven
I had found somebody new
And although I didn’t know it
You were looking for me too
Now it’s you and me together
The inseparable two
Kickin’ up some fairy dust
Walkin’ down the avenue
You never know just what might happen
When you meet somebody new
They could be that someone special
Who’s the other half of you

So go out and take a stroll
And perhaps unexpectedly
You’ll find that someone special
Just like it happened to me

Walkin’ down the avenue
As happy as can be
Walkin’ down the avenue
I’m quite as sight to see
Got a smile on my face
And my cutie on my arm
And I’m thinkin’ this is love
I have found my lucky charm
