I’m thinking back to yesterday
When life was so carefree
Those simpler times of days gone by
The way it used to be
A happy time when hope was high
Of possibility
When everything was beautiful
The way it used to be

Now every day is full of rain
And constant misery
And people chant the same refrain
It’s not how life should be
Take me back to yesterday
When voices still spoke free
And everything was possible
The way it’s sposed to be

Let’s go back to yesterday
Those days of you and me
When people loved their neighbors
And life was heavenly
Back to those days of long ago
Now just a memory
Take me back to yesterday
The way it used to be

How did we ever fall so far
From where we used to be ?
Must we stay right where we are?
Is this our destiny?
If I could make one single wish
And have that wish come true
I’d wish we could go back in time
To those days that we once knew
