Rock ‘N’ Roll Grandma

Lyrics by Hal Pollock

She was brought up in the 60’s
When I saw her standing there
And she learned to play guitar
The year I almost cut my hair
We listened to the music
We were Dancin’ in the Street
Although we now are gettin’ older
We’re still groovin to the beat

She’s my Rock ‘N’ Roll Grandma
She will knock you off your feet
A psychedelic Grandma
The coolest you could ever meet
She plays the Beatles and the Stones
Their entire repertoire
She can trip the live fantastic
And will leave you wanting more

She’s a wild child Janis
With a touch of Hendrix too
Loved the Mamas and the Papas
And the Lovin’ Spoonful too
Saw Santana play at Woodstock
Wore some flowers in her hair
Almost led a revolution
And she did it on a dare

My kids think she’s the greatest
My grandchildren do too
She’s still stuck in the 60’s
And I’m stuck there with her too
If you ever get to meet her
She will play a song for you
If you ask her for an encore
She will probably play you two

I know I picked a great one
Cause she still can Rock ‘N’ Roll
She’s my Rock N’ Roll Grandma
Got the  music in her soul

If you ever want to meet her
Don’t be knockin’ on my door
‘Cause Grandma’s touring with Bon Jovi
She don’t live here any more

She’s my Rock ‘N’ Roll Grandma
She will knock you off your feet
A psychedelic Grandma
The coolest you could ever meet
She plays the Beatles and the Stones
Their entire repertoire
She can trip the live fantastic
And will leave you wanting more
