I saw a man driving in a red Cadillac
He pulled up beside said they all called him Jack
I said “Hey there baby are you going my way?
‘Cause I got some time now so what do you say?”

I jumped in beside him he rolled down the top
The wind in my hair thought it never would stop
We cruised down the highway as fast as could be
This handsome new stranger and adorable me

“Hey there baby are you going my way?
‘Cause I got some time and the sun’s out today
If you got the notion I’m ready to play
So Hey there baby are you going my way?”

I was sure I had found me the man of my dreams
But sometimes things aren’t quite the same as they seem
Sirens and flashers and some guy in blue
Who would have thunk it ‘cause nobody knew

“Hey there buddy I been lookin’ for you
‘Cause I got a warrant and I think this is true”
Then Jack said “Well officer what did I do?
Just out for a ride and I haven’t a clue”

They put him in handcuffs and took him away
Left me there stranded with nothing to say
But don’t you be cryin’ for poor little me
That pretty Red Cadillac I have the key

I’m out on the highway cruisin’ along
Soakin’ up sunshine and singin’ a song
Lookin’ for trouble wherever it be
There’s lots of good lookers for someone like me

“Hey there baby are you going my way?
‘Cause Jack’s doin’ time and the sun’s out today
If you got the notion I’m ready to play
So Hey there baby are you going my way?”

I know the motion
If you got the notion ..
