RAINY DAY MOMENTS

Rainy Day Moments

Lyrics by Hal Pollock

I am sitting by the window
As I watch the falling rain
And a thousand drops assemble
On that misty window pane
Though the rain obscures my vision
Through the glass I’m sure I see
An image of a family
A younger you and me

The window is my looking glass
Into another time
When we were young
Our song unsung
And I still called you mine

There are moments on these rainy days
That I can be with you
Remembering those happy times
When love was bright and new
I live now for those moments
That take me back to you
When we thought we’d be forever
And the kind of love we knew

I am sitting by the window
Where you always sat with me
And we talked about forever
And of how our life would be
It’s the same place that we promised
That for all eternity
We would always have each other
No matter what might come to be

I am looking in my looking glass
Where once again I see
A misty blur
The way we were
A faded memory

Now it seems the rain is stopping
I can’t see past the window pane
For my eyes are filled with teardrops
From a heart still full of rain
I will sit here by the window
Where forever I’ll remain
I am sure that I will never know I
Which are tears and which are rain
