Lucky At Love

Lyrics by Hal Pollock

Some people are just lucky
Things always go their way
They always roll a seven
When they sit down to play
But me I like the ladies
And that’s how it’s gonna be
A different lady every day
That works just fine for me

My friends all call me Lucky
Got the name at 23
The year I won the Derby
And they pinned the name on me
But now I love the ladies
It’s a full time job you see
I love ‘em and I leave ‘em
But I do it gracefully

Lucky at love
That’s what they say
I’m happy as could be
Lucky at love
That’s what I am
Care to dance with me?

Some people think I’m crazy
They say marriage is the key
But I don’t see that happening
At least it won’t for me
I prefer to play the field
Run wild and carefree
It’s much more fun than marriage
All that responsibility

You really shouldn’t judge me
I treat girls respectfully
I’m just a perfect gentlemen
As you can plainly see
I just like variety
An assortment of candy
Who needs one piece of chocolate
When you can easily have three?

So that’s my whole life story
It’s not such a travesty
And if you care to join me
We will comp you here for free

Lucky at love
That’s what they say
I’m happy as could be
Lucky at love
That’s who I am
Care to like to dance with me?
