Just A Case Of Love

Lyrics by Hal Pollock

It starts with infatuation
And the magic of a kiss
A sudden fascination
And a simple “What is this?”
A strange tingling sensation
That goes right down to your toes
You feel your heart go flutter
Every time the feeling grows

Somethin’s got ahold of me
Don’t know just what it is
Took some alka seltzer
Tried to kill it with the fizz
Then went to see the doctor
Said “Doctor help me please”
He said “You’ve got a temperature
110 degrees”

“The second phase is lovesick
As your heart begins to swell
It’s the cycle of gestation
Just not feeling very well
Gonna lose your heart forever
There’ll be no recovery of
You can’t put your finger on this
‘Cause you’ve got a case of love”

Infatuation lovesick
Then a full fledged case of love
You’re goin’ through the cycles
But not what you’re thinkin’ of
You probably won’t survive this
But it’s still too soon to tell
You’ll have to see what happens
But this may not end so well

Went back to see the doctor
He said “Let’s try this instead”
He held his x-ray to me head
And filled me full of lead
“Go home and take some aspirin
Then go straight back into bed
By morning you’ll be fine
Unless perhaps they find you dead”

Somethin’s got ahold of me
What it is I just can’t tell
A serious affliction
Could be Heaven could be Hell
All I know is that I’ve got it bad
There’s no recovery of
My aching heart’s a goner
This is just a case of love
