It’s Not You It’s Me

Lyrics by Hal Pollock

I’ve got some news to tell you
It’s a little bittersweet
This may come as a surprise
Suggest you to take a seat
I’ve been giving this a lot of thought
It’s clear as it could be
These problems we’ve been having
Well it isn’t you it’s me

It’s not you it’s me
I didn’t realize till now
I figured this was normal
We’d work it out somehow
But time went by and suddenly
I’ve this epiphany
The reason we don’t get along
It isn’t you its me

I’ll give you some examples
I am sure you will agree
We’re simply incompatible
It’s just reality
I keep interrupting you
‘Cause you keep talking over me
It’s all my fault this happens
I’m a blabbermouth you see

And here’s some other reasons
We always disagree
It comes down to perspective
We just see things differently

I like coffee
You like tea
I spend money
You eat free
I’m a slob
You keep it clean
You play nice
I’m always mean

You’re married to your cell phone
You’re on it constantly
It’s clear you have a lover
You keep ignoring me
I hear the ringing of the slots
You never make a dime
I wait up nights for you in bed
You never have the time

And so my love it’s with regret
I bid you a fond adieu
But even now it’s obvious
You haven’t got clue
So just one thing before I go
To set the record true
These problems we’ve been having
It isn’t me its you
