It was the year we went to Paris

We went to see Giverny
Traveled south and spent the day
Just you and I together
In the garden of Monet
Where he painted lovely paintings
That will take your breath away

We strolled about the garden
On that perfect summer day
A paradise for lovers
Where we wished that we could stay
We were living in a painting
At the home of Claude Monet
Where love blossoms like the flowers
And will never fade away

Take me back to Giverny
We will travel back in time
Like yesterday
We’ll find our way
A place that’s so sublime
Let me go there once again
Back to that magic time
When love was new
And flowers grew
And I still called you mine

In my mind I can still be there
Any time I choose to be
The place we knew
Just me and you
Now just a memory
I would give up all I own
To go back for just one day
To our picture perfect painting
In the garden of Monet

There is magic in the garden
Love just carried us away
We were captured in a painting
Where forever we will stay

Take me back to Giverny
We will travel back in time
Like yesterday
We’ll find our way
To a place that’s so sublime
Let me go there once again
