If Women Ruled The World

Lyrics by Hal Pollock

Take a look around us
What is it that you see?
A world full of problems
Such as war and poverty
I ask myself the question
How did all this come to be?
Is the problem who we put in
Charge that brought this reality?

If women ruled the world
I wonder what would be?
Would the world be a better
Place of peace and harmony?
Would there be an end to war
And equal opportunity?
For people of all races
To at last be safe and free?

Men are ruled by ego
By vanity and pride
Women rule by reason
Let their conscience be their guide
They don’t like people fighting
Don’t let ego rule the day
They don’t need guns
To show their strength
Put others in harm’s way

Only women know the pain
Of losing one they’ve borne
When sons are sent to battle
And their mothers have to mourn
Perhaps it takes a mother’s love
To turn the world around
For clearly men
Have had their chance
And run the ship aground

So let the women have a chance
To finally lead the way
To bring about a lasting peace
And build a brighter day
A world of tomorrow
That shines brightly as a star
Where people can be free and
Safe no matter where they are
