DIALOGUE 2025

Dialogue 2025

Lyrics by Hal Pollock

Hello my friend the time has come
For us to talk again
It’s fifty years since we last spoke
So what is new since then?

We fought a war we could not win
So many died in vain
People taking to the streets
A time of fire and rain

Crime and drugs were on the rise
And then came Columbine
Can’t we stop the madness?
Protect the children, yours and mine?

They burned down the Twin Towers
Planes attacked us from the air
Hate just seems to multiply
It’s more than I can bear

We’ve got to make it better
But people got to care
Can’t leave this to our children
All this craziness out there

The climate has been changing
Floods and fires everywhere
Can’t we find a way to save
This planet that we share?

And then came a pandemic
Worst in a hundred years
We just can’t seem to stop it
All the world is in tears

We’ve got to make it better
But people got to care
Can’t leave this to our children
All this craziness out there

Now its 2026
Russian troops are in Ukraine
Thousands killed by falling bombs
Tyranny insane

Millions have now lost their homes
Casualties increase
On the brink of world war
Why can’t we live in peace?

I’m glad we had this talk my friend
I feel much better now
I know the news is not so good
We’ll work it out somehow

We can make it better
Yeah, we can make it better
We can make it better
Yeah, we can make it better
