I was just a kid of ten
When the Beatles came to town
And I heard that Rock ‘N’ Roll
Shook the Earth and shook the ground
Well I knew right there and then
Just what I was gonna be
Gonna be a record star
That’s the only life for me

I was born to Rock ‘N’ Roll
Got the music in my soul
It’s a thing you can’t control
When you’re born to Rock ‘N’ Roll
‘Cause when you’re born to Rock ‘N’ Roll
There is nothing you can do
You’re a slave to Rock ‘N’ Roll
Once it gets ahold of you

Well my Mama told me son
Don’t you be no record star
Ain’t no life that those folks lead
You are better than they are
But I told my Mama then
That one day your gonna see
I’ll be up there on the stage
I will make you proud of me

So I bought me a guitar
Headed out onto the road
And I did my Mama proud
But I’m getting kinda old
Still I wouldn’t change a thing
It’s the greatest love I’ve found
Gonna play that Rock ‘N’ Roll
Till they put me in the ground

I was born to Rock ‘N’ Roll
Got the music in my soul
It’s a thing you can’t control
When you’re born to Rock ‘N’ Roll
‘Cause when you’re born to Rock ‘N’ Roll
There is nothing you can do
You’re a slave to Rock ‘N’ Roll
Once it gets ahold of you
